Take the free online level test
Start with the free level test — under 10 minutes, with an instant CEFR result. It is a placement guide, not a certificate, and it tells us which Essential English group is right for you.
Enrol and get your schedule

Study 3 live hours a week

Progress tests every 4 weeks
In weeks 4 and 8 you take an aviation-focused progress test. These are separate from the standard Essential English progress tests, so you can see exactly how your industry English is developing.
Final test and certificate in week 12
Week 12 is airline interview practice and the final test. Pass it and you earn the Kensington English completion certificate — ready for your aviation CV.

What English level do I need to join?
You do not need to be an advanced speaker. The Essential English half of the programme is taught by level, so you are placed in the group that matches you after the free online level test. The Friday Aviation English hour is shared by everyone enrolled on KE–303, and the teacher builds the aviation vocabulary and phrases up from the basics — the ICAO phonetic alphabet in week 1, airline interview language by week 11.
How does placement work — how do I get into the right group?
Take the free online level test first. It takes under 10 minutes and gives you an instant CEFR result, which we use to place you into a currently running Essential English group class on a Monday or a Tuesday. Your Aviation English hour is fixed for everyone: every Friday, 17:00–18:00 UK time. Once you enrol, your Kensington English Portal login and your full weekly schedule are emailed to you. The level test is a placement guide, not a certificate.
When are the classes, and what time is that in my country?
You study 3 hours a week: 2 hours of Essential English in your placed group class on a Monday or Tuesday, plus 1 hour of Aviation English every Friday from 17:00 to 18:00. All times are London (UK) time — GMT in winter, BST (GMT+1) in summer — and students join from anywhere in the world, so convert the times to your own zone. Who is this course for?
It is built for people who want an aviation career or who already work in one: cabin crew candidates preparing to apply, ground staff and check-in and gate agents, ground operations crew, and anyone who wants to boost their aviation CV before an airline recruitment day. Because the programme pairs Aviation English with general Essential English, it also suits people whose everyday English still needs work alongside the industry language.
What happens if I miss a class?
Tell us in advance where you can. Lessons are live and are not recorded, so if you miss one, use the weekly syllabus and your course materials on the Kensington English Portal to review that week’s topic and vocabulary before the next session. Consistent attendance gets the best results.
Are there tests, and do I get a certificate?
Yes to both. You take an aviation-focused progress test every 4 weeks — these are separate from the standard Essential English progress tests — and a final test in week 12. Passing the final test earns you the Kensington English completion certificate, awarded by the school and confirming what you studied and how you performed. It is not an external exam qualification such as IELTS.
How is this different from the FLY ME! aviation programme?
FLY ME! is a special programme we run for closed groups, arranged with partner organisations, so it is not open for individual enrolment. This programme, KE–303 Aviation English, is our open aviation course: 12 weeks of general English plus a weekly Aviation English hour, and you can enrol directly on this page.
