Kensington English · Global Explorers Global Explorers — Juniors · Ages 10–16
An 8-week live online English programme designed for curious young learners. Every session travels somewhere new — a country, a city, a world event, a cuisine, a future — while building the confidence to speak English out loud with native-speaker teachers from London.
Everything you need to know in one place.
Designed for students preparing for summer abroad programmes, international schools, and real-world use of English — delivered entirely online from London, in small, active classes.
A programme that prepares children for the world.
Many of our students travel abroad for short summer courses. The question we kept hearing from parents: "How do we make sure they arrive ready?" Global Explorers is the answer — eight weeks of speaking-first English that builds confidence, curiosity, and context before the passport comes out.
Build speaking confidence
Children who can read and write often freeze when asked to speak. Every session puts the student's voice at the centre: role-plays, quizzes, mini-presentations, and games that reward trying, not perfection.
Create global awareness
Themes span countries, cuisines, special days, endangered animals, technology and travel — so students arrive at their summer programmes already familiar with the topics they'll meet abroad.
Maximise the summer investment
A two-week course abroad is a big investment. Global Explorers ensures children step off the plane with active vocabulary and conversational readiness — not phrases they only know from a textbook.
Speaking-first, game-driven, CEFR aligned.
Global Explorers is built around five principles. Each one is visible in every session — we don't assign them to "special weeks".
Speaking at the centre
Every activity is designed to get students talking. Role-plays, presentations, debates, and conversations — not silent grammar drills.
Gamified learning
Quizzes, MasterChef challenges, tour-guide role-plays, prediction games. Children learn faster when they're invested in winning.
CEFR aligned
Content structured around CEFR descriptors and proven communicative methodology — so progress is real, measurable, and internationally recognised.
UK native teachers
Every class is taught by an accredited native-English teacher from the United Kingdom — so students hear authentic pronunciation from day one.
Mini-projects & quizzes
Students build something real each week — a restaurant, a special day, a city tour — and present it in English. Output, not input.
Placement by level
An online placement test before the programme starts ensures every student is grouped with peers of the right level — not too easy, not too hard.
Every week is a new destination.
Two themed sessions per week — one introduces the theme through discussion and content, the other uses it as the setting for a game, project or presentation. Scroll through both months below.

Purpose-built for two kinds of young explorer.
Global Explorers works for both children who are new to speaking English and those who have years of grammar behind them but freeze when the microphone turns on.
The Pre-Summer student
Heading abroad in July or August. Needs to arrive ready to speak, not panic.
- Familiar with the themes they'll meet at summer school
- Airport, hotel, restaurant and travel English in week 8
- Active vocabulary, not just passive understanding
- Warm-up with a UK teacher before meeting one in person
The Confidence-builder
Knows more English than they show. Needs space to practise, make mistakes, and be heard.
- Small classes of maximum 15 — everyone speaks every session
- Games and projects reduce the fear of being "wrong"
- Teachers trained in supportive, encouraging facilitation
- A visible end product each week to take home and share
A London certificate — and a child ready to travel.
Every student who completes Global Explorers receives an official Kensington English Certificate of Participation, issued from our London office. But the real deliverable is the student who stands at an airport check-in in July and knows exactly what to say.
Everything parents ask us before enrolling.
Q.What level of English does my child need?
Any level from A1 (beginner) to B1+ (intermediate). A short online placement test before the programme places each student in the right group.
Q.How is this different from school English?
School English tends to prioritise grammar and exam readiness. Global Explorers is speaking-first — games, projects, role-plays — with a UK native teacher leading every session.
Q.What platform do you use?
Live sessions run on Zoom with an interactive whiteboard and our own classroom activities. Students only need a laptop or tablet and a quiet corner.
Q.What if my child misses a session?
Every live class is recorded and made available to enrolled students for seven days, along with the worksheets and home-practice prompts.
Q.Can two siblings join the same class?
Only if their placement test puts them at the same level. We keep class levels tight so every student can participate fully — it's the whole point.
Q.Is there homework?
Short, optional creative tasks — a drawing, a recorded sentence, a photo of a dish — shared in the class chat between sessions. Never a chore.
Q.What does it cost?
Please see our rate card for 2026 pricing, or request a brochure-and-price pack via the form below.
Q.How do I enrol?
