How Kensington English uses cookies and similar technologies on our website.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on our website, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you return or browse from page to page.
Similar technologies — such as pixels, local storage, and session storage — work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.
2. Cookies we use
Essential
These are needed for the website to work and cannot be switched off.
- Your cookie choice (
ke_consent_v2, kept in your browser for 12 months) — remembers what you chose in our cookie banner - Portal sign-in (kept in your browser, only if you sign in) — keeps you signed in to the student, teacher or partner portal
- Error reports (
ke_err_sid, deleted when you close the tab) — helps us find and fix website errors; contains no personal details
Preferences and your progress
These are set when you do something on the site, and stay on your device.
- Language (
ke-lang) — remembers the language you pick - Practice tests (
ke-ielts-…and level test progress) — keeps your answers, your scorecard and the details you entered, so you can continue later without retyping. You can remove them with "Clear my scorecard" or in your browser settings - WhatsApp button — remembers if you closed the chat prompt
How you found us
These hold no personal details and are only sent to us if you submit a form.
- First visit (
ke_attribution_v2, cookie and browser storage, 90 days) — records how you first reached us (for example a search engine, an advert or a partner's website) and the first page you saw, so we know which channel an enquiry came from - Partner referral (
ke_ref, kept in your browser for 90 days) — if you arrive through a partner's referral link, remembers the partner's code so that partner is credited if you enrol
Analytics (only with your consent)
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_7D2ET8NLC5, up to 2 years) — shows us which pages are visited and how people find us; reports are aggregated. If you say no, Google Analytics stores nothing on your device and receives only anonymous, cookieless signals (Google Consent Mode).
Advertising (only with your consent)
- Meta Pixel (
_fbp,_fbc, up to 90 days) — measures which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring visitors and enquiries, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited the site. If you say no, the Pixel sets no cookie and sends no information about your visit to Meta. We do not sell your data.
3. Third-party cookies
A few features use services that set their own cookies when you use them: Cloudflare (the security check on our forms), Stripe (our payment pages, to prevent fraud) and Zoom (live lessons in the portal). These are needed for those features to work; please see each provider's own cookie policy for details.
4. How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner — when you first visit our site, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies via our banner. You can change your choice at any time:

5. Your consent
Essential cookies and the preference and progress storage above are used because the site needs them or because you asked for something, such as choosing a language. Analytics and advertising cookies are only used if you agree in our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time with the Manage cookie preferences button above; when you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics and advertising cookies we set.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, technical, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Please check back periodically.
